You will also see a new network adapter in the Control Panel network adapters. In Windows computer, this is visible at “Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections”.

Once connected, the adapter allows your computer to establish a wired Ethernet connection to a network, such as a local area network (LAN), router, or modem. This can provide a more stable and faster internet connection compared to Wi-Fi in some cases.

USB to Ethernet adapters are generally compatible with various operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and Linux, but it’s always a good idea to check for driver support if you’re using a less common or older operating system.

The speed of the Ethernet connection depends on the capabilities of the adapter and the USB port it’s connected to. Most modern USB 3.0 and USB-C adapters can support Gigabit Ethernet speeds (up to 1,000 Mbps), while older USB 2.0 adapters may have slower speeds.
